23 And Ammon did preach unto the people of king Lamoni; and it came to pass that he did teach them all things concerning things pertaining to righteousness. And he did exhort them daily, with all diligence; and they gave heed unto his word, and they were zealous for keeping the commandments of God.
"Zealous for keeping the commandments of God"... I pray the same thing can be said of me in the end!
Ammon taught them everything they needed to know to live right and be happy. But he also did something else, although I’m not sure how and in what capacity. “...he did exhort them daily, with all diligence...”. What does that mean? What could he say every day?
At first I pictured in my mind doing the same thing with my loved ones- preaching to them every day- but could not help think I’d be harassing them if I preached every day. But surely Ammon wasn’t taking to the same people every day. But every day he was addressing some other group of people and nourishing them with the good word of God. Just like our leaders do today, giving fireside addresses and conference talks and so on.
On a personal level, I have to find a way to exhort as many as I can every day, in some way.
