Alma 24: 14

Writer's picture: Brother UreBrother Ure

14 And the great God has had mercy on us, and made these things known unto us that we might not perish; yea, and he has made these things known unto us beforehand, because he loveth our souls as well as he loveth our children; therefore, in his mercy he doth visit us by his angels, that the plan of salvation might be made known unto us as well as unto future generations.

The great a Creator made these things known- the Gospel of Jesus Christ and his Atonement- “beforehand”.

What does that mean? Before what? Perhaps it meant at that time instead of later In life, or the next. So grateful they were that they came to know the truth in this life, and that their children would also be blessed as a result.

And why did God make those things known to them? Because He loves them, as he loves all of his children. They had felt the love of God, and now were filled with the love of God. They had charity, the pure love of Christ.
