3 Now the king conferred the kingdom upon his son, and he called his name Anti-Nephi-Lehi.
4 And the king died in that selfsame year that the Lamanites began to make preparations for war against the people of God.
Just as the rebellion is about to start, Heavenly Father takes Lamoni the older home. But before he dies, he conferred the kingdom upon his son. Which son? We don’t know his name, because apparently he was given a new name to be known by, even the new name of his people- Anti-Nephi-Lehi- a name of honor and goodness. Perhaps that is the name he went by for the remainder of his life. No doubt he was a faithful follower of Christ.
