Alma 26: 11

Writer's picture: Brother UreBrother Ure

11 But Ammon said unto him: I do not boast in my own strength, nor in my own wisdom; but behold, my joy is full, yea, my heart is brim with joy, and I will rejoice in my God.

Ammon clarifies the real reason for his words— that his joy is full, and his heart simply cannot contain his joy and is filled to overflowing. He is not boasting in himself.

The footnote in this verse explains it all—

16 And now, if your joy will be great with one soul that you have brought unto me into the kingdom of my Father, how great will be your joy if you should bring many souls unto me!

Ammon is experiencing the joy of bringing many souls unto Christ.
