1 Now it came to pass that when those Lamanites who had gone to war against the Nephites had found, after their many struggles to destroy them, that it was in vain to seek their destruction, they returned again to the land of Nephi.
This reminds me of that other verse wherein the Lamanites confess that it seemed like God was with the Nephites because they won so many battles that they should have lost. Just as it was in the Revolutionary War on this same land. A rag tag bunch of farmers defeated the greatest superpower of the face of the earth- Great Britain. They even beamed themselves Great! There was as saying of old that the sun never sets on the British Empire. What that meant was that they had conquered so many nations and lands that at any given time of the day on this earth, the sun was shining on some land owned and conquered by Great Britain. And yet they did not conquer on the Lord’s covenant land. This land dedicated only to those who serve the God of the land, who is Jesus Christ- the United States of America. And when they don’t serve Jesus Christ, the God of the land, they will be swept off as every other people have.
And so we stand at that precipice today, as our nation stands at the brink of destruction. For we have allowed that secret combination of old, as Ether warned, to get above us. And that secret combination that seeks to destroy the freedom of every nation and people on earth has just made a huge power grab towards that goal through this manufactured pandemic. They have succeeded in quarantining almost the entire world in their homes for months, and our freedoms have been assaulted on a level as never before.
And yet it seems it must be so. For this nation and the world must be cleansed before the second coming of the Savior, which surely is near. I believe the day of the Gentiles is over, and the fall of Babylon that has been prophesied has begun. And surely like a whirlwind it has come upon us!
