4 Now when Ammon and his brethren saw this work of destruction among those whom they so dearly beloved, and among those who had so dearly beloved them—for they were treated as though they were angels sent from God to save them from everlasting destruction—therefore, when Ammon and his brethren saw this great work of destruction, they were moved with compassion, and they said unto the king:
What a beautiful and tender relationship and friendship and brotherhood and love must have existed between Ammon and his brethren and these people. What mutual joy!!!
Those people were filled with such gratitude and respect and even reverence for Ammon and his brethren that they treated them as if they were literally angels sent from God! Because they saved them from death and hell and destruction and the deepest darkest abyss that one could ever find themselves in. Ammon and his brethren literally saved their lives. By helping them find their way out of the abyss and into the loving arms of their Savior and Lord and Redeemer and Father!
And you know what? If by definition an angel is a messenger sent from God, they WERE ANGELS. They were sent from God to save them! They were angels....
And WE can be angels. We can be angels sent from God if we so desire, have and exercise faith, pray to be an instrument in God’s hands in blessing his children, and are willing to endure whatever God deems necessary to bring miracles to pass.
Oh, that I were an angel!
I may not be an angel, but God has blessed me with an angel. Angel named Shelley. 😇
