Alma27: 2

Writer's picture: Brother UreBrother Ure

2 And it came to pass that the Amalekites, because of their loss, were exceedingly angry. And when they saw that they could not seek revenge from the Nephites, they began to stir up the people in anger against their brethren, the people of Anti-Nephi-Lehi; therefore they began again to destroy them.

Those Lamanites, the ones who had tried to kill King Lamoni and the people of God, now frustrated that they could not take out their murderous hate, anger and resentment against the Nephites, decided to go back to the defenseless Anti-Nephi-Lehis. Apparently when Satan has possessed you body and you are filled with hate, it matters not who you kill. You just have to do his bidding and kill someone. Anyone. And thus is the power we give over Satan when we allow contention and anger into our hearts. We give him power to possess our bodies, and so I’m unspeakable things.

Thus the Lamanites began to kill them again. And apparently there was no more miracle of conversion. Those Lamanites left were the more hardened ones, who were the direct seed of Laman, and they were hardened the  beyond reach of mercy. They would happily take out their hate on the defenseless Anti-Nephi-Lehis.
